The sessions “Turning Silence into Access: AI for Deaf Inclusion in Mozambique,” presented by Vanessa Macamo (PhD Candidate in Special Education, University of Arizona), and “Keeping Students in the Work: Human Judgment and Creativity in the Age of AI,” presented by Dr. Nate Pritts (Chair, Department of Writing Studies, University of Arizona), with the Office of Responsible AI (ORAI), explore how artificial intelligence is transforming both accessibility and education. Together, they highlight how AI can be used to support inclusion, such as improving communication for deaf communities, while also emphasizing the importance of preserving human judgment, creativity, and meaningful student engagement in an increasingly AI-driven world.
