Building on the success of the 2025 inaugural program, the 2026 Summer School expands its scope with two distinct learning tracks designed to meet professionals at different stages of AI engagement. Participants will deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence while developing practical strategies for responsible implementation in public health contexts.

Track I: AI Literacy
Beginner-Friendly | No Coding Required
This track focuses on understanding and strategic application.
Designed for public health professionals new to artificial intelligence who seek clarity, confidence, and a practical foundation for understanding and applying AI effectively in their work.
Participants in this track will:
- Develop a strong understanding of AI fundamentals and terminology
- Learn prompt engineering and responsible AI evaluation strategies
- Explore digital epidemiology and ethical considerations in public health
- Identify meaningful, real-world AI use cases for their daily work
Track II: AI Fluency
Advanced | Technical & Implementation-Focused
This track focuses on technical implementation and deployment.
Designed for experienced practitioners ready to move from AI user to AI builder, developing the technical skills to build, implement, and scale AI systems within their organizations.
Participants in this track will:
- Create reproducible workflows and version-controlled projects
- Build and implement RAG systems and geospatial AI solutions
- Develop evaluation benchmarks and deployment strategies
- Work directly with real-world datasets in lab environments
Scholarships are available for students enrolled at the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Eligible students can apply through the Dean's Annual Fund to cover registration costs.
