David Ebert
Chief AI and Data Science Officer
David Ebert is the inaugural Chief AI and Data Science Officer and holds the Computer Science Engineering Endowed Innovation Chair at the University of Arizona. He is a leading expert in visual analytics, explainable AI (XAI), and human-computer teaming, responsible for driving the university's overall strategy in AI and data science.
Dr. Ebert holds one of only a handful of university CAIO positions nationwide which places the university at the forefront of national conversations about responsible AI governance and adoption. Under the executive leadership, the Office guides strategies to embed responsible, secure, ethical, and effective AI practices campus wide.
