This AI Insights session, presented with the Office of Responsible AI (ORAI), features three University of Arizona presenters examining the intersection of AI, education, and scientific practice. 

Amelia Herb (Senior Lecturer, Writing Program) presents The Algorithm Ate My Homework: Writing Assessment in the Age of AI, exploring how generative AI is reshaping writing assessment and instructional practices. 

Trey Gonzalez (NASA-affiliated Molecular Biology Researcher and Cyber Operations undergraduate) presents AI, Genomic Editing, Wet Labs and New Alchemy, discussing emerging applications of AI in molecular biology and experimental research. 

Alona Kladieva (PhD Student, Second Language Acquisition and Teaching) presents From Ideology to Practice: Implementing CRAIL in a Writing Classroom, focusing on translating critical AI literacy frameworks into practical classroom pedagogy.
