The Office of the Chief AI Officer invites you to join us at the AI Insights Series! In these reoccurring virtual sessions, speakers across disciplines share knowledge about artificial intelligence in a collaborative setting. Sessions feature faculty, student speakers, and industry leaders who will highlight trends, research, and applications in AI. These lunchtime sessions are a chance to learn about AI topics and innovations across different fields and join in the conversation as part of the Wildcat community.

October 7th Presenters:

Dr Tyson Swetnam, Research Associate Professor & Director of Open Science, Office of the Chief AI Officer will present on: Vibe Coding for Academics

Dr Swetnam will lead participants through reproducible research techniques, open science, and generative AI best practices, and will provide a live demonstration of open source and commercial generative AI tools for scientific research and data science.

Dr Jeffrey Gillan, Research Data Scientist & Educator at the Arizona Institute for AI and Society will present on: Claude Code Makes Software Engineering Fun and Much Easier

Dr Gillan will demonstrate how through a natural conversation, you and Claude can develop a detailed plan of the software you would like to write. Then Claude will write the software semi-autonomously.
